She specializes in treating adults with anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and addictions.
Ellen is a compassionate clinician who incorporates a spiritual component in her work with clients. She believes each individual is capable of change and can benefit from the value of the therapeutic process.
Ellen helps her clients reach an understanding of how their thoughts influence their feelings and subsequent actions. By educating clients on cognitive behavioral techniques, clients are provided tools to better understand themselves, and more effectively manage their own emotions.
In addition, Ellen uses Transactional Analysis to assist clients in understanding their core beliefs, and recognizing the life script that develops by the age of 7 and lived out repeatedly as adults.
It’s her belief that people can change not merely by insight into our patterns of behavior but by making the choice to actively change those patterns.
Here’s what Ellen has to say about her client oriented goals:
“The aim of my work is to collaborate with clients to help them experience more joy, success, and meaning in all areas of their lives. I am a warm, caring, and experienced therapist interested in helping clients access their innate strengths, achieve greater self-understanding, and find workable solutions to existing problems."
"Having observed the enormously positive effect therapy can have on people's lives, I am passionate about and find great joy in being a therapist.
